Facial Treatments in Colombia: Fillers, Botox, Biostimulators and Harmonization

The practice in Bocagrande, Cartagena performs hyaluronic acid fillers, botulinum toxin, collagen biostimulators, endolifting and facial harmonization, along with the correction of filler placed somewhere else. Which one applies to you is not chosen from a catalog: it is chosen after your anatomy is imaged with ultrasound, because the same complaint — “I look tired” — can come from lost volume, from skin laxity or from an overactive muscle, and each cause is treated differently.

One face, several tools — and a decision about which one

Facial aesthetic treatments work on three different things: volume and structure (dermal fillers, biostimulators), muscle activity (botulinum toxin) and skin quality or laxity (endolifting, biostimulators, mesotherapy).

A face that looks tired rarely has a single cause, which is why treating whatever bothers you most, in isolation, is how results end up looking uneven. The plan comes first; the product second.

Ultrasound-guided facial hyaluronic acid treatment in Cartagena, Colombia

The facial treatments performed here

Each treatment has its own page, with what it does, how long it lasts and what it does not solve. They all share the same ground rules: the anatomy is imaged with ultrasound before treating, hyaluronic acid can be dissolved if needed, and most treatments allow a return to normal activity the same day. And when what you are asking for cannot be solved by injecting, the assessment says so: some cases need surgery.

Lip fillers

Volume and border definition with hyaluronic acid, in the proportion your face can carry.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

Corrects the nasal dorsum and tip with filler. Ultrasound-guided, because of how the area is vascularized.

Jawline filler

Defines the mandibular angle and the chin, with product placed on bone.

Collagen biostimulators

Stimulate your own collagen for dull skin and mild laxity. The result shows over months, not days.

Endolifting

Laser under the skin for moderate laxity, with no incisions and no visible scar.

Filler correction

Locates filler placed elsewhere with ultrasound, then decides whether to dissolve it or reshape it.

Which treatment answers which problem

Rather than a catalog, this is the honest mapping between a problem and the treatment that actually addresses it.

Lost volume or structure

Dermal fillers or collagen biostimulators, depending on how much and where.

Expression lines

Botulinum toxin, which relaxes the muscle creating the line.

Skin laxity

Endolifting or biostimulators, depending on the degree of sagging.

Dull, dehydrated skin

Biostimulators such as Profhilo, or mesotherapy.

An undefined contour

Jawline and chin filler, placed on bone under ultrasound.

A result you dislike

Ultrasound-guided correction: locate the product first, then decide.

How a facial treatment is planned, step by step

The same protocol, whichever treatment is chosen.

1

Assessment

Ultrasound scan of the areas being considered, to map vessels, nerves and tissue planes — and, if you have had treatments before, to see what product is already there.

2

Choosing the treatment

The treatment is chosen for what the assessment found, including the case where the honest answer is that no treatment is warranted right now.

3

Guided procedure

The procedure is performed with real-time ultrasound where imaging adds control, which is most injectable treatments.

4

Result and follow-up

A check-up reviews the result and adjusts if needed. Plans with several areas are staged rather than done at once.

Frequently asked questions about facial treatments

The questions international patients ask most before choosing a facial treatment.

How much do facial treatments cost in Colombia?

It depends entirely on the treatment and on how many areas are involved. Prices are set at the assessment consultation, once the plan is defined — a quote given before examining your face is a price list, not a plan. International patients can request the equivalent in US dollars before traveling.

The assessment answers exactly that. As a rough guide: lost volume and structure respond to fillers or biostimulators; expression lines to botulinum toxin; skin laxity to endolifting or biostimulators; dull, dehydrated skin to biostimulators or mesotherapy. Most faces need a combination, staged over time.

Botulinum toxin 3 to 6 months. Hyaluronic acid 6 to 18 months depending on the area. Collagen biostimulators up to 2 years. None of them stop the aging process — they reset the starting point.

Topical anesthetic is applied and most fillers contain lidocaine, so discomfort is limited in injectable treatments. Most patients describe pressure. Swelling or small bruises for a few days are normal depending on the area.

Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Botulinum toxin cannot be reversed, but it wears off in 3 to 6 months. Biostimulators are not reversible either — which is one reason the choice of product matters more than the brand name.

Because it shows where the vessels and tissue planes actually are in your face, rather than where anatomical averages say they usually are. It also reveals product from previous treatments before anything new is added — treating over an unknown is how a poor result becomes a worse one.

Yes, and most plans do combine them, because they act on different things. What changes is the sequence: some treatments are staged weeks apart so each result can be evaluated before the next step.

Yes. Dr. Vives is based in Cartagena, where he sees patients on a regular weekly schedule at his practice in Bocagrande. He also travels to Bogotá and Medellín on scheduled dates each month and sees patients at a partner clinic in each city, following the same assessment protocol.

Fillers are assessed and placed in the same visit in all three cities. Dr. Vives travels with his own ultrasound equipment, so the vessels and tissue planes are imaged before injecting wherever you are treated.

Because Bogotá and Medellín are consultation days rather than permanent offices, dates are confirmed before you travel. Request the next available date through the form and we will confirm the city and the date with you. If you are traveling from abroad, you can also start with an online consultation before booking your trip.
